I could sing this song in Chinese when I was very young. I felt happy each time when I sang this song, and I was attracted by the beautiful melody and lyric. At that time, I just wonder who write such an amazing lyrics.

 Many years later, when I went to university in China, I studied English literature. I knew many famous authors and poets in the history of English literature. Robert Burns was introduced in one of the chapters of my literature book.

I read some of his poems at that time, and I liked them. Some of his poems were hard to understand because they were written in Scots which is a native Scottish language a little similar to English.

In the summer of 2010, I came to Edinburgh which is one of the most beautiful cities in Scotland or even in the world. I had some amazing experiences here. Two of the people who most impressed me were St. Andrews and Robert burns.

Today is Burns Night. I am going to discover more about this special day, Robert Burns, and Scotland.
